The Daily Thumb 18/11/25 :)
Sooo, what is this all about? Well, I need to actually start adding some storyboards to my edit. It was recommended that I do some thumbnailing. I kind of originally decided not to do thumbnails and storyboards and make my storyboards/blocking up with basic CG elements because my drawing skills are quite poop when doing it quickly and it takes me ages to draw something I am happy with…
But, it was pointed out to me very rightly so that thumbnails are supposed to be quick and don’t have to be good – note is below:
“You might take an afternoon and see if you can draw the whole thing in thumbnail form, each page the size of a postage stamp, all laid out on one sheet of A4 paper. The drawings do not have to be good. They just have to be enough to allow you to see the whole story in your head. I may have said this before, but it is worth restating that as creatives we can become FAR to distracted by technology. The real work of moving mountains happens as we sit quietly with our thoughts, pencil in hand and pad of paper at the ready. ”
Soo, I am trying to be less concerned with quality and more trying to gather my thoughts 🙂 And hopefully, in turn, this will also improve my drawing skills, even if AI is doing drawing for lots of people now, it is still something I thorougly enjoy, so why not practice more!
I will be doing more than one thumbnail a day but I will only record one a day 🙂
Hope you all have a lovely day!!!
